ActiveX Error during Sun Java™ Software Installation
If you receive an ActiveX error during the Sun Java installation, please ensure that your ActiveX controls are set as follows:

IE Version 5.x & 6.x

  • From the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  • Click the Security tab, and then click Custom Level.
  • Scroll down to ActiveX controls and plug-ins.
  • Click Enable for Download signed ActiveX controls.
  • Click Enable for Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins.
  • Click Enable for Script ActiveX marked safe for scripting.
  • Click OK until you return to Internet Explorer.


    If you are unable to modify your ActiveX settings, you should try a manual download.
