What software components does Check My PC test?
Check My PC test for the following software components:

Operating System – Ensures you are using an operating system certified for CitiDirect Online Banking. To see a list of the supported platforms, click the Certified Platforms link at the right.

Cookies - Ensures your Web browser is enabled to accept cookies. CitiDirect Online Banking uses both a session cookie (stored in memory) and a persistent cookie (stored on hard disk). Deleting the CitiDirect Online Banking cookie whether manually or systemically will delete all user credentials, which will require you to re-register with the CitiDirect Online Banking site. To view instructions on how to enable cookies, click the Cookies settings link at the right. Please consult with your IT department before changing these settings.

What is a cookie A cookie is a text file that stores information about a particular site you visited. The main purpose of cookies is to identify users and possibly prepare customized Web pages for them. The next time you go to the same Web site, your browser will send the cookie to the Web server. The server can use this information to present you with custom Web pages.

Internet Explorer - Verifies the version of Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) installed on the desktop. To see the required version of IE, click the System Requirements link at the left.

Java Virtual Machine (JVM)- Verifies the version of Microsoft JVM installed on the PC. CitiDirect Online Banking uses JVM to execute its code. Click the System Requirements link at the left to see the JVM requirements for CitiDirect.

Permissions - Verifies your desktop user rights to ensure that you have sufficient permissions to install CitiDirect. Click the System Requirements link at the left to see the installation requirements for CitiDirect. Please contact your local administrator if you do not have these rights.

Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Status - CitiDirect Online Banking uses SSL encryption methodology to secure the data between your workstation and Citibank. This is tested by Check My PC to ensure that the right level of SSL is present and enabled. CitiDirect requires 128-bit data encryption.
